About the series

This series began by liberating the potter’s wheel from its conventional function, optimized for producing uniform forms, and deconstructing that very function. Through interactions such as pressing boards into rapidly rotating masses of clay and carving them with hands and tools, sculptural forms emerge by chance, beyond the artist’s conscious control. These phenomena, occurring at the boundary between consciousness and the unconscious, are captured in clay as a highly sensitive recording medium and permanently fixed through firing. The series attempts to redefine ceramics not merely as a sculptural material, but as a “device for remembering moments,” capable of freezing traces of kinetic energy and time.
